Instruction Guide

Polymer Scholar can be used in three modes as described below:

  1. Polymer name as input: The frequency with which the polymer has occurred in literature and a wordcloud of other materials that co-occurred with it is displayed. Commonly occurring variations in name to any given polymer are acceptable inputs. An interactive plot of the most commonly reported properties for that particular polymer is also shown. In order to search for a particular property see the next mode.
  2. Polymer name and property name as input: An interactive plot of property values is displayed along with a histogram of those values. The values may span a large range due to difference in measurement conditions and/or variation in the material system reported in literature.
  3. Property name as input: An interactive plot of different material systems for which the input property is reported in literature is displayed. A histogram of the polymers for which that property is most commonly reported is also displayed. The following properties can be used as the input:
